Jeffrey Eyster
Jeffrey Eyster (born 1970, Minneapolis) is a licensed architect in California, principal of his firm æ architecture, and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Career In 2007, Jeffrey Eyster designed and built a sustainable wood and glass modern home in the Hollywood Hills featured in the Los Angeles Times and shortly thereafter photographed by American architectural photographer Julius Shulman. He wrote about Shulman photographing the home for the architectural design magazine Domus (magazine), Domus. In 2008 Jeffrey Eyster lectured about the home in the context of Hollywood Hills Case Study Houses at the Center of Contemporary Architecture In Moscow Russia. Photographs of the house are presented at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. The ESMoA, El Segundo Museum of Art exhibited a photo of the home taken by Julius Shulman and Juergen Nogai. Bergamot Station
Bergamot Station Arts Center is a Santa Monica facility housing many different private art galleries and appears in most tourist guides as a primary cultural destination. Opened September 17, 1994 as Bergamot Station the campus-like complex is owned by the city of Santa Monica and presently managed by the Worthe Group. History Formerly "Bergamot Station" the site was previously a stop and car storage area from 1875 to 1953, first serving the steam-powered Los Angeles and Independence Railroad and later the Santa Monica Air Line. The station was named after Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), a wild flower native to North America, that once flourished in the area. Ray Kappe
Ray Kappe (August 4, 1927 – November 21, 2019) was an American architect and educator. In 1972, he resigned his position as Founding Chair of the Cal Poly Pomona College of Environmental Design, Department of Architecture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and along with a group of faculty, students and his wife, Shelly Kappe, started what eventually came to be known as the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). In 2003, Kappe began working with LivingHomes to design modular homes. Kappe remained actively involved in architectural theory and practice in his later years, particularly in the areas of sustainability and the prefabrication of residences. Juergen Nogai (born 2 July 1953 in Jessen/Elster, south of Berlin) is a German architecture, art and documentary photographer. Biography Early life Juergen Nogai began his studies as a Fine Arts major with parallel studies in Film, Theatre and Television Science, and German Language at the University of Cologne, West Germany. He then went to the University of Osnabrueck, West Germany and earned a teaching degree in German Language and Fine Arts, which he taught concurrently with his career as a free-lance photographer. He maintained his studio in Bremen, Germany, where he worked for museums, architects, publishers, companies, design and advertising agencies. ESMoA, The Experimentally Structured Museum of Art, is an experimental museum located in Lawndale, California, US (moved from El Segundo, California, El Segundo, California, US in 2023).
