Jeff Martin 777
Jeff Martin 777 was an Australian-Canadian rock band from Perth, Western Australia. The band's name was inspired by Jeff Martin's study of the occult, specifically the work of Aleister Crowley. Martin formed the band with former Sleepy Jackson members Malcolm Clark and Jay Cortez in 2010, after the demise of his previous band The Armada. The band ended in 2012 after the re-activation of Martin's former group The Tea Party in 2011. Biography Following the disbanding of his group The Tea Party in 2005, Canadian singer-songwriter Jeff Martin lived for sometime in Ireland before settling in Perth. In 2008 he formed The Armada, releasing a self-titled album. After this, Martin toured as a duo with Jay Cortez, formerly of Perth bands End of Fashion and The Sleepy Jackson and in 2010 the pair formed a new band with Sleepy Jackson drummer Malcolm Clark. The Sleepy Jackson are an Australian alternative rock band formed in Perth, Western Australia. The band's name was inspired by a former drummer who was narcoleptic. The band revolves around the distinctive vocal style of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Luke Steele. Stemming from a musical family, Luke's father Rick Steele is a local blues musician, and two of Luke's siblings are also musicians, with brother Jesse a former member of The Sleepy Jackson (and currently performing with father Rick in The Hot Biscuit Band), and sister Katy, who fronts another Perth rock band, Little Birdy. Terepai Chalmers Richmond (born 21 February 1971) is an Australian drummer. He joined the Sydney-based rock band The Whitlams in September 1999 and formerly played in acid jazz group Directions in Groove (d.i.g.) (1991–1998, 2008). Biography Terepai Chalmers Richmond was born on 21 February 1971 to a Scottish father and a Cook Island mother who ran a restaurant in Sydney. He started drumming in his parents' Polynesian show band at the age of six, with his sister Jennifer dancing, where he performed several shows every week until finishing school at eighteen. The Tea Party is a Canadian rock band with industrial rock, blues, progressive rock, and Middle Eastern music influences, dubbed " Moroccan roll" by the media. Active throughout the 1990s and up until 2005, the band re-formed in 2011. The Tea Party released eight albums on EMI Music Canada, selling over three million records worldwide, including four double-platinum awards, one platinum and four gold albums in Canada.
