Jeff Martin is an American operatic tenor who made a career based in Germany, singing at international opera houses and concert halls. Focused on character roles, he has appeared as Mime in Wagner's '' Der Ring des Nibelungen'' and Herod in ''Salome'' by Richard Strauss, and appeared in several world premieres. Westminster Choir College (WCC) is a historic conservatory of music currently operating on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Rider's Westminster College of the Arts, the college under which the historic institution has been reorganized, consists of Westminster Choir College as well as Rider's own School of Fine and Performing Arts. Francesco Filidei (born 1973) is an Italian concert organist and composer. A student of Salvatore Sciarrino, he has performed internationally. As a composer, he has collaborated with singer-songwriter Claire Diterzi and written operas premiered in Porto and Paris. His music has been performed by notable contemporary music ensembles. His Japanese wife, , is also a composer. Life Filidei graduated from the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, where he won unanimously the first prizes in organ playing and music composition. He followed advanced courses of Salvatore Sciarrino, Giacomo Manzoni, Sylvano Bussotti, and studied further with Jean Guillou in Zürich. Semperoper
The Semperoper () is the opera house of the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden (Saxon State Opera) and the concert hall of the Staatskapelle Dresden (Saxon State Orchestra). ''Der Ring in Minden'' was a project to stage Richard Wagner's cycle ''Der Ring des Nibelungen'' at the Stadttheater Minden, beginning in 2015 with ''Das Rheingold'', followed by the other parts in the succeeding years, and culminating with the complete cycle performed twice in 2019. The stage director was Gerd Heinz, and Frank Beermann conducted the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, playing on the stage of the small theatre. The Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe is a theatre and opera house in Karlsruhe, Germany. It has existed in its present form and place at Ettlinger Tor since 1975. Achim Thorwald became the Intendant in summer 2002 and held that post until the end of the 2010/11 season. Wahnfried
Wahnfried was the name given by Richard Wagner to his villa in Bayreuth. The name is a German compound of (delusion, madness) and (peace, freedom). Financed by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, the house was constructed from 1872 to 1874 under Bayreuth Carl Wölfel's supervision after plans from Berlin architect Wilhelm Neumann, the plans being altered according to some ideas of Wagner. He and his family moved in on 28 April 1874, while the house was still under construction. Engraved across the portal is Wagner's motto: ("Here where my delusions have found peace, let this place be named Wahnfried"), which initially caused some amusement among local townsfolk. Wagner did not spend the closing days of his life at Wahnfried, leaving Bayreuth on 6 September 1882 for the sixth and final time for Venice, where he resided until his death 13 February 1883 at the Palazzo Vendramin-Calergi. Nana Forte
Nana Forte (born 1981) is a Slovenian composer. She was born in Zagorje ob Savi, Slovenia. In 2005, Forte graduated in composition from the Music Academy in Ljubljana under Marko Mihevc. She continued her postgraduate studies at Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden under Lothar Voigtländer from 2005 to 2007 and in Berlin at the Universität der Künste under Walter Zimmermann (2007–09). Her works include compositions for solo instruments, chamber music, orchestral music and pieces for choir. Forte is one of the few young Slovenian composers who are composing much choral music. While studying she worked with many Slovenian choirs and conductors and was awarded a number of prizes for her choral compositions.
