The Jede Hot Cup Open was a golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour and the Challenge Tour in 1990 and 1991. It was played in Mariestad, Sweden. Mariestad
Mariestad () is a locality and the seat of Mariestad Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 16,611 inhabitants in 2019. Until 1997 it was the capital of the former Skaraborg County and an episcopal see in the Church of Sweden between 1583 and 1646. History The city was founded in 1583 by Duke Charles, who later became King Charles IX of Sweden. The city is named after the his wife Marie of Pfalz. Rubén Alvarez
Rubén Alvarez (30 May 1961 – 9 November 2014) was an Argentine professional golfer. Alvarez was born in Pilar, Buenos Aires. He worked as a caddie in Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1986. Alvarez won the Argentine Qualifying School in 1986, and went on to win the Argentine Tour Ranking (Order of Merit) in 1991, but he only competed once in a major championships, the British Open in 1994. He competed on the Challenge Tour in 1991, with a best of two second-place finishes, the Ramlösa Open and the Jede Hot Cup, both held in Sweden. He competed on the European Tour from 1993 to 1995, and had two top ten finishes, coming 9th in both the 1994 Tenerife Open and the 1995 Madeira Island Open. Alvarez represented Argentina on two occasions in the World Cup, 1991 in Rome, Italy and 1992 in Madrid, Spain. He was second in the San Pablo Open (Brazil) in 1990. Alvarez died of cancer in 2014. Robert Karlsson (born 3 September 1969) is a Swedish professional golfer who has played on the European Tour and the PGA Tour, and now plays on the PGA Tour Champions. Olle Karlsson (born 9 April 1969) is a Swedish professional golfer and European Tour player. In 1998, he won the Open Novotel Perrier (with Jarmo Sandelin) and was runner-up at the English Open. Amateur career Karlsson lost the final of the 1987 Spanish International Amateur Championship to Michael Quirke of Ireland. In 1988 he appeared in the PLM Open, a European Tour event held at Flommen Golf Club, where he made the cut and tied for 19th. Professional career Karlsson turned professional in 1989 and joined the Swedish Golf Tour and the Challenge Tour, where he won the 1993 Ramlösa Open. Playing on the Asia Golf Circuit, he tied for 3rd at the Philippine Open in 1992. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''.
