Jed The Fish
Edwin Jed Fish Gould III (born July 15, 1955), known to radio listeners as "Jed the Fish", is a disc jockey who hosted afternoon drive on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles, from 1978 to 2012. Known for his maniacal laugh and biting humor, he interviewed seminal alternative acts such as Brian Eno, David Bowie, Sting and Elvis Costello, and is sometimes credited as the first DJ on KROQ to play the Offspring's " Come Out and Play". An early supporter of new wave and alternative bands, Jed the Fish is reputed to be the first US DJ to play Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, the Pretenders, helping KROQ establish itself as an influential radio station of the 1980s and 1990s. A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. Types of DJs include Radio personality, radio DJs (who host programs on music radio stations), club DJs (who work at a nightclub or music festival), mobile DJs (who are hired to work at public and private events such as weddings, parties, or festivals), and turntablism, turntablists (who use record players, usually turntables, to manipulate sounds on phonograph records). KFAS
KFAS was a radio station on 1260 kHz in Casa Grande, Arizona, United States, which operated from December 6, 1956, to at least November 1995. Its FCC license was canceled on February 9, 1997. History KPIN (call letters standing for Pinal County) signed on December 6, 1956, as the first radio station in Casa Grande. It broadcast with 1,000 watts during the day on 1260 kHz and was owned by the ABC Service Company, named for its three proprietors: E. Glenn Abercrombie, Milton F. Brown, Jr., and N. L. Caperton. Within six months of signing on, ABC Service Company sold the station to John W. Parham and David A. Garee, who promptly exited the partnership. ''Yours, Mine and Ours'' is a 1968 American family comedy-drama film directed by Melville Shavelson and starring Lucille Ball, Henry Fonda and Van Johnson. Before its release, it had three other working titles: ''The Beardsley Story'', ''Full House'', and ''His, Hers, and Theirs''. It was based loosely on the story of Frank and Helen Beardsley, although Desilu Productions bought the rights to the story long before Helen's autobiographical book ''Who Gets the Drumstick?'' was released to bookstores.
