Jean Dupong
Jean Dupong (18 May 1922 – 6 December 2007) was a Luxembourgish politician. A member of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV), Dupong held a number of positions in government and within the party. Dupong was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the 1954 election. He would be re-elected until his retirement from the Chamber in 1979. During this time, he was a member of Pierre Werner's cabinet from 1967 to 1974, including as Minister for Justice from 1967 to 1969. Dupong was also President of the CSV from 1965 to 1972. Dupong was appointed to the Council of State in 1979, in which he sat until 1994. He served as the Council's Vice-President (1988–91), before becoming President (1991–94): becoming the most prominent politician to hold the position since Léon Kauffman in 1952. (feminine: ) is a historical title of the German nobility, usually translated as "count". Considered to be intermediate among noble ranks, the title is often treated as equivalent to the British title of "earl" (whose female version is "countess"). Eugène Schaus
Eugène Schaus (12 May 1901 – 29 March 1978) was a Luxembourgian politician and jurist. Schaus was a leading light in the early days of the Democratic Party, of which he would be President from 1952 until 1959. Schaus held office in a number of governments, under Pierre Dupong and Pierre Werner, over a period of thirty years. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister, a position created especially for Schaus, in Werner's first government. He would serve in this capacity again (1969–1974), as well as holding a number of other high offices. Career An experienced lawyer, Schaus was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1937, in which he served until 1940, when the country was occupied by Nazi Germany and the Chamber was suspended. Having refused to swear allegiance to the occupying forces, Eugene Schaus, his wife and their three children spent most of the war in German deportation camps in Eastern Europe, and returned only at the end of the war. Nicolas Mosar (25 November 1927 – 6 January 2004) was a politics of Luxembourg, Luxembourgish politician, jurist, and diplomat. A Christian Social People's Party (CSV) member, Mosar was elected to the Luxembourg communal council, communal council of Luxembourg City in 1959, and sat in the council until 1984, including a period as an ''Échevin (Luxembourg), échevin''. He first entered the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, Chamber of Deputies in 1969, and, excluding a two-year spell out (1974–1976) after the CSV's 1974 Luxembourgian legislative election, 1974 election defeat, sat in the Chamber until 1984. During this time, he was also President of the Christian Social People's Party, President of the CSV (1972–1974).
