Jean-Yves Le Déroff (born 15 September 1957 in Inezgane, Souss-Massa-Drâa, Morocco) is a French sailor and Olympic champion. The 1988 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XXIV Olympiad () and commonly known as Seoul 1988 ( ko, 서울 1988, Seoul Cheon gubaek palsip-pal), was an international multi-sport event held from 17 September to 2 October 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. 159 nations were represented at the games by a total of 8,391 athletes (6,197 men and 2,194 women). 237 events were held and 27,221 volunteers helped to prepare the Olympics. The 1988 Seoul Olympics were the second summer Olympic Games held in Asia and the first held in South Korea. Inezgane (; ) is the capital of Inezgane-Aït Melloul Prefecture located on the north bank of the Sous River, about south of Agadir, on the Atlantic Ocean coast of Morocco. Souss-Massa-Drâa (; ber, ⵙⵓⵙ ⵎⴰⵙⴰ ⴷⵔⴰ) was formerly one of the sixteen regions of Morocco from 1997 to 2015. It covered an area of 70,880 km² and had a population of 3,601,917 (2014 census).
