Jean-Philippe Maury
Jean-Philippe Maury is a French pastry chef, who currently owns iDessert in San Diego and oversees two pastry shops aboard a cruise ship. Biography Maury was born and raised in Perpignan in the south of France. At the age of eight, he often helped his aunt while she was baking, which sparked his curiosity and inspiration for pastry. Maury has two Certificat d'Aptitude Professionelle (CAP) in hotel management and baking. At the age of 16, he began his training as a pastry chef, first training in pastry at L'École Hôtelière du Moulin à Vent and later undertaking master studies at La Chambre de Métiers in Perpignan, receiving his degree in 1991. In 1997, Maury moved to New York City to work with chef François Payard. During the same year, he won the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) title for pastry. A pastry chef or pâtissier (; the French female version of the word is pâtissière ), is a station chef in a professional kitchen, skilled in the making of pastries, desserts, breads and other baked goods. They are employed in large hotels, bistros, restaurants, bakeries, and some cafés. Aria Resort and Casino is a luxury resort and casino, part of the CityCenter complex on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Chocolate Fountain
A chocolate fountain is a device for serving chocolate fondue. Typical examples resemble a stepped cone, standing 2–4 feet tall with a crown at the top and stacked tiers over a basin at the bottom. The basin is heated to keep the chocolate in a liquid state so it can be pulled into a center cylinder then vertically transported to the top of the fountain by an Archimedes screw. From there it flows over the tiers creating a chocolate "waterfall" in which food items like strawberries or marshmallows can be dipped. Bellagio (resort)
Bellagio is a resort, luxury hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by The Blackstone Group and operated by MGM Resorts International. Bellagio was conceived by casino owner Steve Wynn, and was built on the former site of the Dunes hotel-casino. Wynn's company, Mirage Resorts, purchased the Dunes in 1992. Plans were announced in 1994 to replace it with Beau Rivage, a French-themed resort. However, Wynn changed the project plans in 1995, instead theming it after the village of Bellagio, near Lake Como. The resort was designed by Jon Jerde. Construction began on November 1, 1995, with Marnell Corrao Associates as general contractor. The Next Iron Chef
''The Next Iron Chef'' is a limited-run series on the Food Network that aired its fifth season in 2012. Each season is a stand-alone competition to select a chef to be designated an Iron Chef, who will appear on the Food Network program ''Iron Chef America''.
