Jean-Marie Seroney
Jean-Marie Seroney (25 July 1927 – 6 December 1982) was a Kenyan human rights advocate, a legislator, and an Amnesty International prisoner of conscience. He was detained as a prisoner of conscience for 1,155 days. Seroney served as the Member of the Legislative Council for Nandi Constituency from 1961 to 1963 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Nandi North from 1963 to 1966 before becoming the Member for the newly formed Tinderet Constituency from 1966 to 1975. As a legislator, he worked hard to introduce bills that would remove or at least check the excessive powers vested in the president as a result of the numerous amendments to the Constitution. He also brought in the first private member's bill to help ensure that Kenya's elections were free, fair and inclusive. Kapsabet
Kapsabet is a town in Kenya. It is the capital of Nandi County and is located 40 kilometres southwest of Eldoret on the way to Chavakali. The name Kapsabet comes from "Kap"- 'belong to/area of' and "sabit" or "sobet" – 'live' and has come to mean 'a place of life' though external influences and documentation refer it as Kapsabet. Kapsabet High School
Kapsabet High School is a boys' national school located in Kapsabet, Kenya, about 40 kilometers from Eldoret, Kenya's fifth largest city. History The school was founded in 1925 as the Government African School (GAS). It is one of the oldest high schools in the country. It was established to cater for African students at a time when schools were still segregated by the British colonialists. It has undergone many transformations over the past century. The old school campus where the school stood at first is now used as a primary school, Kapsabet High Primary School. The school now celebrates its Founders' Day on 4 February, every year. Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi
Daniel Toroitich arap Moi ( ; 2 September 1924 – 4 February 2020) was a Kenyan politician who served as the second president of Kenya from 1978 to 2002. He was the country's longest-serving president. Moi previously served as the third vice president of Kenya from 1967 to 1978 under President Jomo Kenyatta, becoming president following the latter's death. Born into the Tugen sub-group of the Kalenjin people in the Kenyan Rift Valley, Moi studied as a boy at the Africa Inland Mission school before training as a teacher at the Tambach teachers training college, working in that profession until 1955. Kapsowar
Kapsowar is a Town in Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya. Prior to March 2013, it was located in the former Rift Valley Province. In 1994, Kapsowar became the headquarters of the former Marakwet District. Prior to this, the Marakwet and Keiyo tribes were collectively grouped into the Elgeiyo-Markwet District. In 2010, the two districts were again merged into Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
