JazzKamikaze
JazzKamikaze is a contemporary jazz band with members from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Biography It is not easy to describe their music, but it can be said that they play a mix of be-bop, funk, fusion, rock and hip-hop. In Norway they have appeared at Kongsberg Jazzfestival and Moldejazz and internationally at North Sea Jazz Festival, Bangkok Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival as well as being part of the opening of the annual Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Daniel Heløy Davidsen
Daniel Heløy Davidsen (born 30 December 1978 in Copenhagen) is a Danish-Norwegian guitarist. He is known for his participation in bands like Czesław Śpiewa and JazzKamikaze and many record appearances as a studio musician, with artists like Selena Gomez and Kylie Minogue. Career Daniel Davidsen was born in Denmark to Norwegian parents. He was educated at Copenhagen Rhythmic Music Conservatory and has experience in a wide variety of genres, from rock/pop to country, hardcore fusion, hip-hop, Balkan, world music and jazz. He has mainly played as a session musician for such as Nexus (Nik & Jay and others), Tue West (both record album and live), Tescu Value, Bombay Rockers and the Joker. Kristor Brødsgaard
Kristor Lybecker Brødsgaard (born 1979) is a Danish double bassist known from collaborations with jazz guitarist Tao Højgaard and within JazzKamikaze. Career Brødsgaard picked up the double bass in 1992, and was awarded the «Berlingske Tidendes Rytmiske Musikkonkurrence», including bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen in the jury. Anton Eger
Anton Eger (born 9 December 1980) is a Norwegian-Swedish jazz drummer, known from a series of recordings and collaborations with musicians like Django Bates, Marius Neset, Daniel Heløy Davidsen, Ivo Neame, and Jasper Høiby. Career Eger studied jazz at the Copenhagen Rhythmic Music Conservatory under the guidance of Django Bates among others, and played drums on Bates' album ''Spring is Here (Shall We Dance?)'' (2008). Within the Scandinavian quintet JazzKamikaze, he participates on several album releases and appeared at various international jazz festivals Kongsberg Jazzfestival, Moldejazz, North Sea Jazz Festival, Bangkok Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival, as well as being part of the opening of the annual Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Morten Schantz
Morten Silberg Schantz (born 19 October 1980) is a Danish jazz pianist. Career Schantz was raised in Kalundborg, where he started playing classical piano at the age of 6 years but eventually had motivation problems in early adolescence. While getting a new and inspiring teacher, he got back motivation and was introduced to jazz. He was quickly inspired by bands and musicians like Weather Report, Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, David Sanborn, and Herbie Hancock. Schantz formed his first trio as band leader in 1997, and they got the opportunity to play gigs at local clubs and released their first demo album ''Cantaloupe Island'', the year after. In 1998 he formed ''The Marten Schantz Segment'' including his earlier so inspiring teacher, Mikkel Uhrenholdt (saxophone) and Jesper Thomsen (drums). Marius Neset
Marius Søfteland Neset (born 2 January 1985 in Os, Hordaland) is a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone) living in Copenhagen. He is known from collaborations within the jazz bands "People Are Machines", "Kaktusch", "JazzKamikaze" and Django Bates projects "StoRMChaser" big band and " Human Chain". He is the son of music teachers guitarist Terje Neset (b. 1959) and pianist Anne Leni Søfteland Sæbø (b. 1961), and the brother of the vocalist Anna Søfteland Neset (b. 1987) flautist Ingrid Søfteland Neset (b. 1992). Career Neset holds a Master's degree at the Copenhagen Rhythmic Music Conservatory 2008, and finished Soloist studies under the guidance of Django Bates among others, at the same place in 2010.
