Jay Pinkerton
Jay Pinkerton (born June 15, 1977) is a Canadian humourist known for co-writing, with Erik Wolpaw, the story of Valve's video game ''Portal 2''. A former editor of both Cracked.com and ''Cracked'' magazine, ''PlayStation World'' magazine referred to him as a "one-man gag machine". Prior to joining ''Cracked'', Pinkerton served as the managing editor of NationalLampoon.com, the website of the national comedy and film brand. Jay Pinkerton initially registered his website, Jaypinkerton.com, to be a portfolio of his comedy and artwork. Afterwards, Pinkerton joined the forums of the Internet humour website "Pointless Waste of Time" (PWOT), and took the attention of the site's owner, David Wong, with whom Pinkerton worked on a now-defunct satirical news commentary, the "News Skim", and other comedy articles. Golden Words
''Golden Words'' is a weekly humour publication produced by students at Queen's University at Kingston in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. It claims to be the only humour weekly in Canada. The paper was founded by the Engineering Society in 1967 to give the Engineering Society a voice on campus. Its very first cartoon contained an Engineer reading a copy of the ''Queen's Journal'', thinking to himself "Oh, what crap is this?". It has been published more or less continuously since inception, appearing every Wednesday for most of the Fall and Winter terms, unless the editors have tricked the readers into believing it had been shut down (as was the case in November 1985). Recent volumes have run 25 issues. Along with the ''Queen's Journal'', it is one of the two main student-run publications on campus, and claims a circulation of roughly 4,000 copies. CollegeHumor is an Internet comedy company based in Los Angeles. Aside from producing content for release on YouTube, it was also a former humor website owned by InterActiveCorp ( IAC) until January 2020, when IAC withdrew funding and the website shut down. Since then, CollegeHumor has continued to release content on YouTube and its streaming service, Dropout. McSweeney's Publishing is an American non-profit publishing house founded by Dave Eggers in 1998 and headquartered in San Francisco. Initially publishing the literary journal'' Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern'', the company has moved to novels, books of poetry, and other periodicals. Company history Since 2002 Advanced Marketing Services had been the parent company of McSweeney's distributor Publishers Group West (PGW), but in 2006 they declared bankruptcy. At the time of the filing, PGW owed McSweeney's about $600,000. McSweeney's eventually accepted an offer from Perseus Books Group to take over distribution; the deal paid McSweeney's 70 percent of the money owed by PGW. Jason Pargin (born January 10, 1975), known by his former pen name David Wong, is an American humor writer.
