Javier Jiménez Espriú
Javier Jiménez Espriú (born 31 July 1937) is a Mexican academic and former Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico. He is the former head of the engineering school at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He was Under Secretary of Communications and Technological Development of the Secretariat of Communications and Transport when Miguel de la Madrid was president (1982-1988). Additionally, he was the CEO of Mexicana de Aviación, what was once one of the largest Mexican airlines, from 1994 to 1995.1 He was appointed the Secretary of Communications and Transportation by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in December 2018. Secretariat Of Communications And Transportation (Mexico)
The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (''Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes'', SICT) of Mexico is the national federal entity that regulates commercial road traffic and broadcasting. Its headquarters are in the Torre Libertad on Reforma in Mexico City but some aspects of the department still function at the old headquarters located at the intersection of Eje Central and Eje 4 Sur (Xola). The building is decorated with murals created by arranging small colored stones on the building's outer walls. Historical nomenclature The forerunner of the modern-day SCT was created in 1891 under President of Mexico, President Porfirio Díaz and was known as the Secretariat of Communications ''(Secretaría de Comunicaciones)''; its first incumbent as secretary was Manuel González Cosío. Andrés Manuel López Obrador (; born 13 November 1953), also known by his initials AMLO, is a Mexican politician who has been serving as the 65th president of Mexico since 1 December 2018. He previously served as Head of Government of Mexico City from 2000 to 2005. Born in Tepetitán, in the municipality of Macuspana, in the south-eastern state of Tabasco, López Obrador earned a degree in political science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico following a hiatus from his studies to participate in politics. Gerardo Ruiz Esparza (, April 22, 1949 – April 1, 2020), was a Mexican attorney and politician who served as the Secretary of Communications and Transportation in the cabinet of Enrique Peña Nieto. Jorge Arganis Díaz Leal (born 20 April 1943) is a civil engineer and current Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico. In October 2021, he was named in the Pandora Papers leak. Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado (; 12 December 1934 – 1 April 2012) was a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who served as the 59th president of Mexico from 1982 to 1988. Compañía Mexicana de Aviación, S.A. de C.V. (usually shortened to Mexicana de Aviación or simply Mexicana) was Mexico's oldest airline and one of the List of airlines by foundation date, oldest continuously single-branded airlines (after KLM, Avianca and Qantas, QANTAS). Mexico City Texcoco Airport was a planned airport in Mexico City that was meant to become Mexico's New International Airport (Spanish: ''Nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional de México''—NAICM or NAIM). The project was announced in September 2014 but was canceled in late 2018 after a referendum was held stating that the new airport should be built at a different location.
