Javad Zarrincheh
Javad Zarincheh ( fa, جواد زرینچه, born July 23, 1966) is a former Iranian football player, coach and a football administrator. He is currently team manager of Esteghlal. He played for the Iran national football team and was a participant at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Career Zarincheh was considered one of the best right wing backs in the history of Iranian football. However, late in his career he was playing as a sweeper. There was a rumor that Mohammad Mayelikohan, Iran's head coach back in the time, didn't invite him to the national team, due to his hostility with Esteghlal's players. That's why Zarincheh was never invited to the national team, when Mayelikohan was the head coach. After Mayelikohan was sacked, Bijan Zolfagharnasab invited him to the national team. Tehran
Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran. Iranian Football League
The Iranian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for football clubs in Iran. Structure The current structure has been in place since 2001. The Persian Gulf Pro League (PGL) is the highest level of club football in Iran. It is also called the Pro League. Below it is the Azadegan League, also known as the 1st division and called the League 1, which consists of one twenty-team group. One level further down from that is the 2nd division, also known as a League 2 which is made up of 40 teams evenly distributed into four groups. One step down, and the final nationwide league, is the 3rd division, also known as a League 3. This level has five groups and 60 teams. Ali Daei
Ali Daei ( fa, ; born 21 March 1969) is an Iranian football manager and former player. A striker, he was the captain of the Iranian national team between 2000 and 2006 and played in the German Bundesliga for Arminia Bielefeld, Bayern Munich and Hertha Berlin. He is regarded as one of the greatest Asian footballers of all time. A tall forward, Daei was a prolific goalscorer and was known for his heading accuracy and ability in the air. He was the world's top international goalscorer with 109 goals, until his record was broken by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2021. Azadi Stadium
The Azadi Stadium ( fa, ورزشگاه آزادی Varzešgâh''-è Âzâdi''), opened as the Aryamehr Stadium ( fa, ورزشگاه آریامهر Varzešgâh-è ''Âryâmehr''), is an all-seater football stadium in Tehran, Iran. The stadium was designed by Abdol Aziz Mirza Farman-Farmaian Architects and Associates (AFFA) with other parts of the sports complex based on plans by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an American architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm due to the very short time frame for design and construction of the overall project. It was inaugurated on 17 October 1971 by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran; it is currently self-owned by Esteghlal and Persepolis. Hazfi Cup
Hazfi Cup (Jām-e Hazfi; ) is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. The Iranian football league was not held during the 1980s, hence the winner of Hazfi Cup represented Iran in the Asian Club Championship. After the revive of the league system, the champion of Iranian league qualified for Asian Club Championship and the winner of Hazfi Cup ran for Asian Cup Winners' Cup. However, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup merged with the Asian Champions Cup in 2002–03 to form the AFC Champions League and Iran had been initially given two (and later four) slots in this competitions. The IRIFF decided to award one of Iran's AFC Champions League spots to the winner of the Hazfi Cup, and since then, the winners of Hazfi Cup have always been allocated a spot in the AFC Champions League.
