Jat's Incline () is a road in Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Location Jat's Incline connects Clear Water Bay Road in the south to the junction of Shatin Pass Road and the western end Fei Ngo Shan Road, next to the top of Tate's Cairn in the north. History The road was built in 1907 by the 119th Infantry (later renamed the 2nd Battalion of the 9th Jat Regiment, abbreviated to “2/9 Jat Regt”) and repaired in 1932 by the 3rd Battalion of the 9th Jat Regiment (abbreviated to “3/9 Jat Regt”). Wong Tai Sin District
Wong Tai Sin District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is the only landlocked district in Hong Kong. It is located in Kowloon, and is the northernmost district in Kowloon. It borders the districts of Kwun Tong to its southeast, Kowloon City to its southwest, Sai Kung to its east, and Sha Tin to its north. Geography The district contains the areas of Diamond Hill, Wang Tau Hom, Lok Fu, Chuk Yuen, Wong Tai Sin, Tsz Wan Shan, Fung Wong, Choi Hung and Choi Wan, an area that includes several major public housing estates. Shatin Pass Road
Shatin Pass Road () is a road in the Wong Tai Sin District of Kowloon, Hong Kong, linking the Wong Tai Sin area in the south to the junction of Fei Ngo Shan Road and Jat's Incline in the north. Along the way, it passes through the Tsz Wan Shan area and Sha Tin Pass. The northern part of Shatin Pass Road, between Sha Tin Pass and the junction of Fei Ngo Shan Road and Jat's Incline, is part of the Stage 4 of the Wilson Trail and Section 5 of the MacLehose Trail. This section of the road also marks the border between Sha Tin District and Wong Tai Sin District. History Shatin Pass Road was built by the British Army to access Sha Tin Pass and its remote villages in the Sha Tin District from Kowloon. Fei Ngo Shan Road
Kowloon Peak, also known as Fei Ngo Shan (literally: "Soaring Goose Mountain"), is a tall mountain in the northeast corner of New Kowloon, Hong Kong, situated in Ma On Shan Country Park. It is the tallest mountain in Kowloon, and is crossed by both the Wilson Trail and the MacLehose Trail. On the lower slopes of Tung Yeung Shan about 1.1 miles (1.7 kilometres) to the north is the Gilwell Campsite, belonging to The Scout Association. Hiking and access There are several paths from Jat's Incline and Fei Ngo Shan Road that lead to the summit. One of Hong Kong's most treacherous and dangerous climbs is the rock climb from Clear Water Bay Road to Kowloon Peak's summit through Suicide Cliff. Tate's Cairn
Tate's Cairn or Tai Lo Shan () is a mountain in Hong Kong at in height. It is one of the peaks of the Kowloon Ridge and falls within Ma On Shan Country Park. The peak began to appear on colonial maps in the 1860s but remained unnamed until the beginning of the 20th century. Background The origins of the peak's English name is unknown, but it may originate from maps created by a surveyor named George Passman Tate, Assistant Superintendent of Indian Survey Department who is responsible for government maps of Hong Kong and New Territories in 1899 and 1900. Built in 1991 at a cost of HK$2 billion, Tate's Cairn Tunnel is a -long twin-tube vehicular tunnel running north–south beneath the peak. Good Hope School (GHS; ) is a prestigious girls' school in Hong Kong with primary and secondary sections, founded in 1954. It is conducted by Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (M.I.C.). It is located at the junction of Ngau Chi Wan Street and Clear Water Bay Road, on the hill in the eastern outskirt of Ngau Chi Wan.
