Jasper is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population within the city limits was 931 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Joplin, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Jasper is located one mile south of the Barton-Jasper county line. It is on U.S. Route 71 approximately ten miles south of Lamar and ten miles north of Carthage. Debra Dene Barnes (born September 6, 1947) is an American music educator and former beauty pageant participant who was crowned Miss America 1968. Early life and education Born Debra Dene Barnes, she was raised in Moran, Kansas. Dublin is a former community in Barton County, Missouri, United States, located on the Jasper County line, approximately one mile north of the current town of Jasper.
