Jasmyn Smith
Jasmyn Smith (born 10 May 2004) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She has previously played for the Gold Coast. Early life Smith was raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland where she attended Emmanuel College and served as school vice captain in 2022. Her mother, Michaela is a Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and Australian singles champion in badminton and her father, Shane, is a former Broadbeach, Southport and Geelong Football League AFL player, and professional triathlete. Jasmyn first participated in her school's Auskick program in grade four but didn't take the sport seriously until the professional AFLW competition was established in 2017. Jasmyn was a state level netball player at the time, and her Queensland U15 team won the Australian Indoor Netball Championship. Bond University Football Club
Bond University AFL, nicknamed as the ''Bull Sharks'', is a Gold Coast based Australian rules football club operating out of Bond University. The club currently competes in the Queensland Football Association Division Two and the Queensland Women's Football League competitions. The club is currently one of two universities that supply teams to AFL Queensland, the other being University of Queensland. History The Bond University Football Club was formed in 2011 and entered the AFLQ Division 3 Central league for their inaugural season. Bond would play home games at the Robina Roos' ground on Scottsdale Drive due to unsuitable facilities existing at the university. Auskick is a program designed to teach the basic skills of Australian rules football (AFL) to boys and girls aged between 5 and 12. Auskick is a non-contact variant of the sport. It began in Australia and is now a nationwide non-selective program. It has increased participation and diversity in the sport amongst children, and is now being run in many countries across the world. Broadbeach Australian Football Club, also known as the ''Broadbeach Cats'', is an Australian rules football club representing the suburb of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The club competes in the Queensland Australian Football League after having previously competed in North East Australian Football League. Its home ground is Subaru Oval - Nee Merrimac Oval. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). There are five senior women's AFL leagues in Queensland governed by AFL Queensland. The Queensland Australian Football League Women's (QAFLW) is the highest league in the State and provides elite women footballers the opportunity to play in a semi-professional environment.
