Jasmine Greenwood
Jasmine Greenwood (born 13 October 2004) is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, she won a silver medal in the 100 m butterfly S10. She has a been selected to compete at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France. Personal life Greenwood was born on 13 October 2004 in Figtree, New South Wales. In 2011, Greenwood acquired a brain injury as a result of two strokes caused by acute appendicitis and septic shock. It primarily affects the left side of her body. In 2019, she attended Shoalhaven High School and lives in Sussex Inlet, New South Wales. In 2024, she is studying psychology at the University of Canberra. Career Greenwood is classified as a S10 swimmer. In 2014, she decided to apply for classification to take part in para-swimming after joining the Bay & Basin Swim Club in Shoalhaven, New South Wales. Figtree, New South Wales
Figtree is an inner western suburb of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It is south-west of West Wollongong and connected to Wollongong by the Princes Highway and The Avenue. At the junction of the highway and The Avenue is Figtree Grove, a two-storey indoor shopping centre with a Woolworths, Coles and Kmart. The shopping centre was opened in 1965. The second story is used by a couple of businesses and a second storey to its carpark facilities. Adjacent to the centre is a park which contains sports facilities, a baby health centre and a small sculpture garden. There is a small commercial district near this junction and another connected area of mainly food stores further north on the highway near the freeway entrance. Mikaela Jenkins (born March 11, 2003) is an American Paralympic swimmer who represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Career Jenkins made her international debut for the United States at the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships where she won a gold medal in the women's 100 metre butterfly S10 event, and silver medals in the women's freestyle relay 34pts and women's freestyle relay 34pts events. S10 (classification)
S10, SB9, SM10 are Paralympic sports#Classification, disability swimming classifications used for categorizing swimmers based on their level of disability. Swimmers in this class tend to have minimal weakness affecting their legs, missing feet, a missing leg below the knee or problems with their hips. This class includes a number of different disabilities including people with amputations and cerebral palsy. The classification is governed by the International Paralympic Committee, and competes at the Paralympic Games. Definition This classification is for swimming (sport), swimming. In the classification title, S represents Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly strokes. SB means breaststroke. SM means individual medley.
