Bajuni Islands
The Bajuni Islands ( it, Isole Giuba, also known as the Bajun Islands or Baajun Islands) are an archipelago in southern Somalia. They are situated in the Somali sea in the southern coast of Jubaland, from Kismayo to Ras Kiyamboni (not to be confused with Ras Kamboni). Geography Administratively, the islands are within the Lower Jubba region of Somalia. There are six main islands: * Chandra (2.95 km²), * Chovaye (also spelled Tovai; ) (5.46 km²), * Chula (also spelled Tula; ) (1.99 km²), * Koyama (6.38 km²), * Darakasi (1.99 km²) and * Ngumi (2.56 km²). Chula with the village of Ndowa is the only island with a significant population. The islands of Somalia are located adjacent to the Gulf of Aden to the north, the Guardafui Channel at the apex of its territory, and the Somali Sea to the east. Gulf of Aden Somalia's only islands in the Gulf of Aden are located in the Zeila Archipelago, the largest islands of which are Sacadin and Aibat. Guardafui Channel Jasiirada Khuuri, which is located in the Guardafui Channel is a mere 100 kilometers from the coast of Cape Guardafui. However, since it is administrated in the Socotra Governorate, it is under Yemeni jurisdiction.
