Jarzinho Pieter
Jarzinho Saul Emmanuel Pieter (11 November 19879 September 2019) was a Curaçaoan professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for the Curaçaoan clubs Centro Dominguito and Vesta and for the Curaçao national team. International career Pieter made his debut for the Curaçao national football team in a 2–0 friendly win over Aruba on 14 November 2013. He was called up to represent Curaçao at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Death On 9 September 2019, Pieter died of a heart attack after falling ill the night before. Pieter was in Port-au-Prince, Haiti with the Curaçao national football team for a CONCACAF Nations League qualifying match against Haiti. Willemstad ( , ; ; en, William I of the Netherlands, William Town, italic=yes) is the capital city of Curaçao, an island in the southern Caribbean Sea that forms a Countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It was the capital of the Netherlands Antilles prior to its Dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles, dissolution in 2010. Caribbean Cup
The Caribbean Cup was the championship tournament for national association football teams that are members of the Caribbean Football Union. The first competition, established by Shell and run by former England Cricket fast bowler Fred Rumsey, was contested in 1989 in Barbados. The Caribbean Cup served as a qualification tournament among CFU members for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Caribbean Cup replaced the CFU Championship competition which was active between 1978 and 1988. Trinidad and Tobago, eight-time winners, and Jamaica, six-time winners, were the most successful sides, winning a combined 14 of 18 titles. Martinique, Haiti, Cuba and Curaçao also won the tournament. In 1990 on the day of the final, an insurrection in Trinidad and Tobago, the host nation, by the Jamaat al Muslimeen forced an abandonment of the tournament with only the final and 3rd place play-off game remaining. 2019 King's Cup
The 2019 Annual King's Cup Football Tournament ( th, ฟุตบอลชิงถ้วยพระราชทานคิงส์คัพ 2019), commonly referred to as 2019 King's Cup, was the 47th King's Cup, the annual international men's football tournament organised by Football Association of Thailand. It was held in Buriram, Thailand, from 5 to 8 June 2019. Two matches were held on 5 June, the winners of which qualified for the final. The two other teams played the play-off for the 3rd spot. As hosts, Thailand participated automatically in the tournament; they were joined by the CONCACAF team Curaçao and AFC teams Vietnam and India. Defending champions Slovakia did not participate. The King's Cup is an international football tournament organised in Thailand by the Football Association of Thailand. The host, Thailand, is a participant in every edition. 2017 Caribbean Cup
The 2017 Caribbean Cup was the 19th and final edition of the Caribbean Cup, the biennial international men's association football, football championship of the Caribbean region organized by the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The top four teams qualified for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, while the 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification#Fifth place playoff, fifth-placed team advanced to a 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification (CFU–UNCAF play-off), play-off against the fifth-placed team from the 2017 Copa Centroamericana for the final Gold Cup berth. The host for the final round was expected to be announced in January 2016. Martinique was announced as host on 25 January 2017, winning over bids of Curaçao and French Guiana.
