Jarnail Singh (journalist)
Jarnail Singh (1973 – 14 May 2021) was an Indian journalist and politician belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He was a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, representing the Rajouri Garden constituency until 6 January 2017, when he resigned as MLA to compete for the AAP against sitting CM Parkash Singh Badal. Education and journalism career Jarnail Singh obtained a diploma in journalism from the YMCA Institute for Media Studies and Information Technology. He started his career as a reporter for ''Amar Ujala''. He then worked as a correspondent with the Hindi-language daily ''Dainik Jagran'' for over a decade. Singh gained media attention when he threw a shoe at India's Home Minister P. Chidambaram during a press conference on 7 April 2009. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma (born 7 November 1977) is an Indian politician and a Member of parliament (MP) from West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. As a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he is serving his second term as an MP for West Delhi. In 2014 he was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha, and re-elected in 2019 for the 17th Lok Sabha with the highest ever margin of victory in the history of Delhi, a margin of 578,486 votes. He is a member of two high level committees of Parliament, the Finance Committee, and the Estimates Committee. Jarnail Singh (born 15 March 1981) is an Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) politician. He was elected to the Fifth Legislative Assembly of Delhi in 2013, in 2015 for Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi and in 2020 for Seventh Legislative Assembly of Delhi. 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly Election
The Delhi Legislative Assembly election was held on 7 February 2015 to elect 70 members of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi. The results were announced on 10 February 2015. The Aam Aadmi Party secured an absolute majority in the assembly, winning 67 of the 70 seats.
