Jarkko Laine
Jarkko Laine (17 March 1947 – 19 August 2006) was a Finnish poet and a writer of prose and plays. He also translated American literature to Finnish. Jarkko Laine was born in Turku, Finland. He became known from the 1960s underground movement, deriving inspiration from popular culture, pop music and comics. He provided some lyrics for the band Suomen Talvisota 1939–1940, and for popular singer Rauli Badding Somerjoki he wrote such song lyrics as 'Bensaa suonissa', 'Hymyile Miss Universum' and 'Pilvet karkaa, niin minäkin' (the latter being the title song of Aki Kaurismäki's film ''Drifting Clouds''). Jarkko Laine was the editorial assistant for the literature magazine ''Parnasso'' in the years 1969–1986 and its editor-in-chief in the years 1987–2002. He was also the President of The Union of Finnish Writers in the years 1987–2002. Finland

Turku
Turku ( ; ; sv, Åbo, ) is a city and former capital on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River, in the region of Finland Proper (''Varsinais-Suomi'') and the former Turku and Pori Province (''Turun ja Porin lääni''; 1634–1997). The region was originally called Suomi (Finland), which later became the name for the whole country. As of 31 March 2021, the population of Turku was 194,244 making it the sixth largest city in Finland after Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Vantaa and Oulu. Suomen Talvisota 1939–1940
Suomen Talvisota 1939–1940 was a provocative Finnish rock band in the years 1969 and 1970. Their only album is called ''Underground-Rock''. Lyrics for the band were provided under pseudonyms by M.A. Numminen and the Turku poets Markku Into (under the pseudonym Taannehtiva Seuralainen) and Jarkko Laine (under the pseudonym Lauri Kenttä, a reference to Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent). The name of the band literally means "The Finnish Winter War 1939-1940". They are widely considered a founding band of Finnish rock music, starting the careers of Numminen and Rauli Badding Somerjoki, influencing artists such as Juice Leskinen, and even serving as early precursors to the Finnish punk scene. Rauli Badding Somerjoki
Rauli Somerjoki (born Rauli Aarre Tapani Somerjoki; 30 August 1947-14 January 1987), known professionally as "Badding", was a Finnish rock singer born in the town of Somero into a family of five children. His records were published on such labels as Love Records. Career Badding Somerjoki founded his first band, The Five Yes, in 1963 and also played in the group Suomen Talvisota 1939-1940. He and M. A. Numminen caused a major scandal in 1966 with provocative songs like "Mitä nuoren aviomiehen tulee muistaa" ('What Young Husbands Should Remember') and "Jenkka ulkosynnyttimistä" ('Vulva Jenkka'), whose performance resulted in the interruption of the concert by the police although the lyrics were simply texts from factual books on marriage and sexuality available in public libraries. Aki Kaurismäki
Aki Olavi Kaurismäki (; born 4 April 1957) is a Finnish film director and screenwriter. He is best known for the award-winning '' Drifting Clouds'' (1996), ''The Man Without a Past'' (2002), ''Le Havre'' (2011) and ''The Other Side of Hope'' (2017), as well as for the mockumentary ''Leningrad Cowboys Go America'' (1989). He is described as Finland's best-known film director. Career After graduating in media studies from the University of Tampere, Kaurismäki worked as a bricklayer, postman, and dish-washer, long before pursuing his interest in cinema, first as a critic, and later as a screenwriter & director. ''Parnasso'' is a literary magazine published in Helsinki, Finland. The magazine has been in circulation since 1951. It is among the most respected literary magazines in the country. History and profile ''Parnasso'' was established in 1951. It was modeled on ''Bonniers Litterära Magasin'', a Swedish literary magazine. The headquarters of ''Parnasso'' is in Helsinki. Markku Into
Markku Into was a Finnish poet and one of the main members in Finnish 1960s underground movement of Turku. Markku Into has written collections of poetry, prose and plays. He has also translated into Finnish such American Beat generation writers as Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Gregory Corso; also Charles Bukowski. He wrote lyrics for the band Suomen Talvisota 1939-1940. His literary debut was ''Tuonela Rock'' of 1971. Markku Into has also received the Eino Leino Prize in 2001. Alongside Suomen Talvisota 1939-1940, he has performed in the 21st century with Turku's band Turun Romantiikka.
