Jarett Park
Jarett Park (born October 25, 1982) is a professional lacrosse player from Otisco, New York. He currently plays for the Colorado Mammoth in the National Lacrosse League, and the Washington Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse. College career Park is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he was a two-sport athlete. A midfielder on the lacrosse team, leading the team in groundballs in all four seasons, he helped them win two NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships in 2002 and 2004. Park also played on the Orangemen soccer team. As a freshman, he was awarded the Big East Rookie of the Year and led the nation in assists per game. In 2001 he was named College Men's Freshman of the Year by Soccer America magazine. As a junior, he garnered All-Big East recognition. As a senior, Park did not play soccer, instead deciding to focus on lacrosse. 2004 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship
The 2004 NCAA Division I lacrosse tournament was the 34th annual tournament hosted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the team champion of men's college lacrosse among its Division I programs, held at the end of the 2004 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse season. Syracuse won the championship with a 14–13 win over Navy. The Orange, led by senior Michael Powell, scored the game winner with one minute left in the fourth quarter, claiming their eighth national title. Powell finished the game with one goal and five assists. Syracuse outscored Navy 3–1 in the final five minutes to overcome a 12-11 fourth-quarter deficit. Navy got the ball back with 15 seconds left, but could not get a shot off. 2008 NLL Season
The 2008 National Lacrosse League season, the 22nd in the history of the NLL, began on December 29, 2007, and concluded with the Buffalo Bandits winning the championship game over the Portland LumberJax on May 17, 2008. In an odd coincidence, all four eastern division teams that made the playoffs finished with identical 10–6 records. Due to tiebreakers, the Buffalo Bandits clinched first place overall, followed by the Minnesota Swarm, New York Titans in their playoff debut, and the Philadelphia Wings in their return to the playoffs after a five-year absence. There was also a tie atop the west division standings, as the San Jose Stealth and Colorado Mammoth both finished with 9–7 records. The 2007 National Lacrosse League season, the 21st in the history of the NLL (including the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League and Major Indoor Lacrosse League years) began on December 30, 2006 and concluded with the championship game on May 12, 2007. The Rochester Knighthawks finished the regular season with a 14–2 record, winning their last 12 games. They followed this up by beating Toronto in the first round, and then clinched the Eastern division title by defeating Buffalo in the Eastern division finals, with league MVP John Grant, Jr. scoring in overtime. The 2006 National Lacrosse League season was the 20th season in the history of the league, which began as the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League in 1987. The season began on December 30, 2005 and concluded with the championship game on May 13, 2006. The defending champion Toronto Rock were once again the favourite to win the Champions' Cup, but a slow start plus a dismal performance in the semifinal game against Rochester Knighthawks, Rochester removed the Rock from contention. The Colorado Mammoth, under first-year head coach Gary Gait, won their first title since winning the first ever title in 1987, as the Baltimore Thunder.
