Janów, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship
Janów is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Elbląg, within Elbląg County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It lies approximately east of Elbląg and north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn. Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, and in 1772–1945 it belonged to Prussia and Germany ( East Prussia). A voivodeship (; pl, województwo ; plural: ) is the highest-level administrative division of Poland, corresponding to a province in many other countries. The term has been in use since the 14th century and is commonly translated into English as "province". Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship or Warmia-Masuria Province or Warmia-Mazury Province (in pl, Województwo warmińsko-mazurskie, is a voivodeship (province) in northeastern Poland.
