Janez Polda (25 May 1924 in Mojstrana – 20 March 1964) was a Yugoslavian between ski jumper who competed between 1948 and 1956. Career He finished 41st in the individual large hill at the 1948 Winter Olympics in Sankt Moritz, tied for 16th at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo and was 24th at the 1956 Games. Mojstrana (; german: Meistern) is a village in the Municipality of Kranjska Gora in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Geography Mojstrana is located in the Upper Sava Valley at the point where Bistrica Creek joins the Sava River below the main road from Jesenice to Kranjska Gora at an elevation of 641 m. The glacial Vrata Valley leads from Mojstrana towards the southwest past Peričnik Falls to the north face of Mount Triglav. The road to three other valleys— Radovna, Krma, and Kot—also begins in Mojstrana. Name Mojstrana was first attested in 1763–87 as ''Moistrana''. Bloudkova Velikanka
Bloudkova velikanka ("Bloudek Giant"), also Bloudek-Rožmanova velikanka, is a large ski jumping hill in Planica, Slovenia, originally opened in 1934. In 2001 the hill collapsed and was completely rebuilt in 2012. A new normal hill (HS102) was also built next to Bloudkova velikanka in 2012, replacing the old K90 hill. A total of ten world records were set at the venue in the 1930s and 1940s. The hill was originally constructed by Ivan Rožman, and was named after Stanko Bloudek. It was later renamed to Bloudek-Rožmanova velikanka in honour of Rožman. A year after opening, Bloudek became the main constructor, improving the hill until his death.
