While the population is greater in the neighboring Karmøy municipality, the main commercial and economic centre of the Haugaland region in northern Rogaland and southern Vestland is in Haugesund. Molde Fotballklubb, also known simply as Molde FK, is a Norwegian professional football club based in Molde. The club is affiliated with Nordmøre og Romsdal Fotballkrets and play their home games at Aker Stadion.
