Powązki Cemetery (; pl, Cmentarz Powązkowski), also known as Stare Powązki ( en, Old Powązki), is a historic necropolis located in Wola district, in the western part of Warsaw, Poland. It is the most famous cemetery in the city and one of the oldest, having been established in 1790. It is the burial place of many illustrious individuals from Polish history. Some are interred along the "Avenue of the Distinguished" - ''Aleja Zasłużonych'', created in 1925. It is estimated that over 1 million people are buried at Powązki. The Kraków Society of Friends of Fine Arts ( pl, Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie, TPSP) is a social group of artists, artisans and their supporters founded in Kraków in 1854, under the Austrian Partition of Poland. Today, the Society operates from the Art Nouveau Palace of Art erected by its own members in 1901 at the Szczepański Square in Kraków Old Town. The Museum of Industry and Agriculture ( pl, Muzeum Przemysłu i Rolnictwa) is a former museum of technology and agriculture at 66, ''Krakowskie Przedmieście'' in Warsaw, Poland. History It was founded in 1866 on the initiative of Jan Tadeusz Lubomirski and was chartered on June 5 1875. Among its notable co-founders were philanthropists count Feliks Sobański, Józef Zamoyski, Karol Dittrich and Hipolit Wawelberg, the Polish-Jewish banker. From 1881 it was located on ''Krakowskie Przedmieście'' in a former guardhouse and Bernardine monastery. It contained archives of the history of Polish industry, agriculture and crafts.
