Life and works
From 1875 to 1881, he studied at the Warsaw Drawing School (now the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw) with Wojciech Gerson and . He was presented with a cash prize for his works and a stipendium to study at the . In 1888, he married Stanisławą Leontyną Jezierską (1871-1947). They had four children; Janinę (1889-1949), (1891-1959), who became a noted lawyer and politician, Eugeniusza (1892-1944) and Leokadię (1895-1944).
