Jan Gerard Waldorp
Jan Gerard Waldorp (1740–1808) was a Dutch artist and museum curator. He received all paying visitors to the Nationale Kunst-Galerij in the Hague (1800–1805), one of the forerunners of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Jan Gerard Waldorp was a pupil of Anthony Elliger and Jan Maurits Quinkhard.Jan Gerard Waldorp in the RKD He was active in Amsterdam during the years 1758–1767 and then moved to Haarlem, where he married Elisabeth van der Horst and was in the board of the Stadstekenacademie. The Rijksmuseum () is the national museum of the Netherlands dedicated to Dutch arts and history and is located in Amsterdam. Anthony Elliger
Anthony Elliger (1701-1781) was an 18th-century painter from the Northern Netherlands. Elliger was born in Amsterdam as the son of Ottomar Elliger II.Anthony Elliger in the RKD He was the brother of Ottmar Elliger III. He married Christina Houbraken, a daughter of Arnold Houbraken and they became the father of Christina Maria Elliger. Jan Maurits Quinkhard
Jan Maurits Quinkhard (28 January 1688 – 11 November 1772) was an 18th-century painter and print designer from the Northern Netherlands. Biography Quinkhard was born in the town of Rees, Germany, Rees, near Cleves. He was a Dutch painter and scholar of his father, the painter Julius Quinkhardt the Elder, Arnold van Boonen, Krzysztof Lubieniecki, Christoffel Lubinietski, and Nikolaas Verkolje. He painted familiar, allegorical, and mythological subjects, and was excellent in portraits, of which he painted a great number. Five good examples are in the Amsterdam Museum. His son Julius (1736-1776) was instructed by his father, but abandoned art for commerce. Two pictures by him are in the Amsterdam Museum. The Stadsschouwburg (; Dutch: ''Municipal Theatre'') of Amsterdam is the name of a theatre building at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Cornelis Sebille Roos
Cornelis Sebille Roos or Cornelis Roos (1754 – 1820) was a Dutch art dealer and inspector of the Nationale Konst-Gallery collection in Huis ten Bosch during the years 1799-1801 Roos was born 10 January 1754 in Amsterdam and baptized six days later in the Walloon church. He became a drawing teacher and manager of Felix Meritis, which he helped found. In 1798 he lived in the left-hand side of the Trippenhuis where he started his art dealership. Many of the paintings he originally purchased have found their way into the collection of the Rijksmuseum. He was friends with Jan Gildemeester and attended the estate sale of his art collection, buying many pieces there that later found their way in the Huis ten Bosch collection. Gallery Prince William V
The Prince William V Gallery is an art gallery on the Buitenhof in The Hague that currently shares an entrance with the Gevangenpoort museum. It is a recreation of the original gallery ''Galerij Prins Willem V'', once founded there by William V, Prince of Orange in 1774. The displayed paintings are part of the collection of the Mauritshuis. Amongst the paintings on display are works by Peter Paul Rubens, Jan Steen, Paulus Potter and Gerard van Honthorst. History Though built in 1774, the gallery has not been continuously open, mostly because the collection was abducted by the French 20 years after it opened and another 20 years passed before most of the works were recovered.
