Jan-Åke Edvinsson
Jan-Åke Edvinsson (13 September 1941 – 6 December 2022) was a Swedish ice hockey administrator. He served as the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) general secretary from 1986 to 2006, and held the same position with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association from 1976 to 1986. During this time with the IIHF, it grew from 34 to 64 competing nations at 29 international tournaments. He later worked as a technical delegate for the Winter Olympic Games. He was inducted into the builder category of the IIHF Hall of Fame, and was also inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame, the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame, and the Slovenian Hockey Hall of Fame. Kristianstad Municipality
Kristianstad Municipality (''Kristianstads kommun'') is a municipality in Scania County in southernmost Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Kristianstad. The present municipality was created in three steps during the last nationwide local government reform, and it has the largest area of the municipalities of Skåne County. René Fasel
René Fasel (born 6 February 1950) is a Swiss retired ice hockey administrator. He served as president of the International Ice Hockey Federation from 1994 to 2021. He started his ice hockey career as a player for HC Fribourg-Gottéron, in 1960, and became a referee in 1972. He became president of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation 1985, then was elected president of the International Ice Hockey Federation in 1994. He later became an International Olympic Committee member and was elected to its executive board. Early career Born in Fribourg, Switzerland, Fasel started his playing career with the Swiss league team HC Fribourg-Gottéron in 1960. He remained with the team until 1972 and retired to become a referee. He remained a referee until 1982 and officiated 37 international matches. IIHF Hall Of Fame Inductees
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. 2013 IIHF World Championship
The 2013 IIHF World Championship was the 77th event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), held in Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland, between 3–19 May 2013. TV4 and MTV3 served as host broadcasters of the event. The host team Sweden won the team's ninth title in history by defeating Switzerland in the final 5–1, and became the first host team to win the tournament since the Soviet Union team won the 1986 World Championship in Moscow, Soviet Union.
