Jamie Rowe
Jamie Rowe (born April 7, 1970 as Earl Wilson Rowe, Jr.) is a musician best known as the lead vocalist of the Christian hard rock band, Guardian. He has also been vocalist for New York-based AdrianGale, power pop band, London Calling (which briefly became The Ruled) and most recently collaborating with Jamey Perrenot in The Lost Days of Summer. He has also released several solo works including the single "I Do" written for his wife, Amber Rowe, for their wedding. In 2019, a solo album, ''This Is Home'', was recorded. Background Billed as "J.R. Rowe," Rowe began with the band, Tempest, as a teenager in the late 1980s. Their debut album, ''A Coming Storm'', recorded on Pure Metal Records in 1987, features Rowe's vocals with less grit and more high, falsetto screams (à la metallurgist mentor Stryper's Michael Sweet) than in his later work, and the lyrics contain a straightforward evangelical candor. ''Buzz'' is one of the albums from Christian rock band Guardian. The album was released in October 1995 and was produced by Steve Taylor. The album takes the band into the realms of alternative music and grunge common of the 90s. Guardian opened for Taylor in a tour which prompted them to ask him to produce their next album. Whitecross (band)
Whitecross is an American Christian metal band from Illinois, formed in 1985 by singer Scott Wenzel and guitarist Rex Carroll, and re-formed in 2000. The band won three Dove Awards in the 1990s. History Whitecross formed in 1985 in Waukegan, Illinois, releasing their first recording in 1987. Their early albums, which often invite comparisons to Ratt, are laced with fast, technical guitar work. In 1994, Rex Carroll split with lead vocalist Scott Wenzel. Wenzel retained the use of the name "Whitecross" while Carroll went on to form King James with Jimi Bennett (see below). At this point the band's sound underwent a drastic change. Rex Carroll is a guitarist and known for his work in the Christian metal band Whitecross (band), Whitecross. Rex Carroll is also the leader and guitarist of other bands including Fierce Heart, King James (band), King James and the Rex Carroll Band. He also filled in and did all the guitar work on Eden's 1994 album ''Fan The Flame''. Career Whitecross In Whitecross, Carroll is not only the lead guitarist, but is also the primary songwriter.
