Jamey Heath
Jamey Heath is a political activist in Ontario, Canada. He was the research and communications director for the New Democratic Party under Jack Layton until shortly after the 2006 federal election. Previously, he was a senior campaign worker in Jack Layton's successful campaign to win the party's leadership in 2003. Heath had earlier been communications director for Greenpeace, and was the NDP's candidate for Ottawa Centre in the 1997 federal election, placing second to the Liberal Party's Mac Harb. He has been a weekly columnist for the '' Ottawa Sun'' and ''Capital Xtra!''. Heath graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Journalism degree. While at Carleton, he was involved in student politics; most notably getting disqualified from a Carleton University Students' Association election. Ontario New Democratic Youth
The Ontario New Democratic Youth (ONDY) is the youth wing of the Ontario New Democratic Party which is in turn affiliated with the federal New Democratic Party. Any party member, aged 25 or under is automatically a member of ONDY and is eligible to attend and vote in the youth wing's yearly convention, known as ONDYCON. Structure ONDY members are grouped into clubs designated to represent one of 4 things: a riding, a school campus, a labour group, or a region. These clubs organize various events and act as the local chapters of ONDY. At the provincial level, ONDY is run by its executive, which are elected to one year terms by the Ontario New Democratic Youth's entire membership at its yearly convention. Paul Dewar
Paul Wilson Dewar (January 25, 1963 – February 6, 2019) was a Canadian educator and politician from Ottawa, Ontario. He was the New Democratic Party (NDP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Ottawa Centre. Dewar was first elected to the House of Commons in the 2006 federal election. He served as the Official Opposition Critic for Foreign Affairs, until he left the post in October 2011 to run for the leadership of the NDP. Dewar lost his seat during the 2015 federal election which saw the NDP lose all of its seats in Eastern Ontario. Before entering politics he worked as a teacher and was an elected representative of the Ottawa-Carleton Elementary Teachers' Federation.
