James Wheeler (American Politician)
James Wheeler (March 21, 1793 – February 20, 1854) was an American politician who served in the Michigan House of Representatives immediately following adoption of the state's first constitution. Biography James Wheeler was born in Saratoga County, New York, on March 21, 1793. He later lived in Wheeler, New York, a town which was named after his family. In 1834, Wheeler settled and farmed in Tecumseh, Michigan. Tecumseh, Michigan
Tecumseh is a city in Lenawee County in the U.S. state of Michigan, near the River Raisin. Tecumseh is about southwest of Detroit, south of Ann Arbor, and north of Toledo, Ohio. The main street of downtown is Chicago Boulevard, also designated as M-50. It crosses the River Raisin a few miles east of M-52. As of the 2010 census, the city has a population of 8,521. Wheeler is a town in Steuben County, New York, United States. The population was 1,136 at the 2020 census. The town is named after Captain Silas Wheeler, an early settler.
