James Morrish
James John Morrish (20 January 1868 – 10 October 1956) was an Australian politician. Born in Carmarthen, Wales, to master butcher Francis Morrish and Margaret Morgan, he arrived in New South Wales around 1896 and worked as a barman. He helped found the Hotel, Club, Restaurant and Caterers' Employees' Union and was its secretary. An early socialist, he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for King in 1910 and served until 1917, although he left the party over the conscription issue and joined the Nationalist Party. In 1927 he was declared bankrupt; he was discharged in 1928. Morrish died at Hurstville Hurstville is a suburb in Southern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Carmarthen (, RP: ; cy, Caerfyrddin , "Merlin's fort" or "Sea-town fort") is the county town of Carmarthenshire and a community in Wales, lying on the River Towy. north of its estuary in Carmarthen Bay. Ernest Broughton
Ernest Clement Vernon Broughton (29 January 1865 – 15 August 1917) was a politician in New South Wales, Australia. He was a Member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly and a mayor of the Municipality of Ashfield. Early life Broughton was born on 29 January 1865 at Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, the son of Alfred Delves Broughton (the police magistrate at Drayton, Queensland) and Clemence Lamonneire dit Fattorini. On 15 February 1890 Broughton married Amelia Lockyer (Millie) Newcombe, the daughter of William Newcombe, at St Peters Church, Woolloomooloo. Their home in Ashfield was called ''Delves'', a Broughton family name. They also owned a summer cottage ''Sur-le-mer'' at Cronulla. In 1909 after a fiery meeting, he was appointed as the second President of the New South Wales Rugby League, replacing fellow politician Henry Hoyle, one of the three founding fathers of Rugby League in Australia. Tom Smith (Australian Politician)
Thomas Januarius Smith (13 January 1890 – 23 September 1975) was an Irish-born Australian politician. He was born in Dublin; his father was James William Smith. He was educated at St Francis Xavier's College, Liverpool, before becoming a clothing salesman. On arrival in New South Wales he became involved with the trade union movement, working as an organiser for the Australian Workers' Union. He was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in 1917 as the Labor member for King, but with the introduction of proportional representation in 1920 he was defeated running for the multi-member seat of Sydney.
