James Marleau
Jim Marleau (born 1947) is an American politician from Michigan. A Republican, Marleau represented the 12th district of the Michigan Senate from 2011 until 2019. Early life March 18, 1947, Marleau was born in Lake Orion, Michigan. Education Marleau earned an AAS degree in Business/Finance from University of Toledo. Marleau earned a CFMA in Municipal Finance Administration from Central Michigan University. Career Marleau was for many years a businessman. Marleau served as a treasurer in Orion Township, Michigan. On November 2, 2004, Marleau won the election and became a Republican member of Michigan House of Representatives for District 46. Marleau defeated Daniel Myslakowski with 63.08% of the votes. The University of Toledo (UToledo or UT) is a public research university in Toledo, Ohio. It is the northernmost campus of the University System of Ohio. Michigan Senate
The Michigan Senate is the upper house of the Michigan Legislature. Along with the Michigan House of Representatives, it composes the state legislature, which has powers, roles and duties defined by Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963. The primary purpose of the Legislature is to enact new laws and amend or repeal existing laws. The Michigan Senate is composed of 38 members, each elected from a single-member district with a population of between approximately 212,400 to 263,500 residents. Legislative districts are drawn on the basis of population figures, provided by the federal decennial census. Senators' terms begin immediately upon their election. Republicans hold the majority in the State Senate with twenty-two seats; Democrats hold the minority with sixteen seats. Michael Dean Bishop (born March 18, 1967) is an American attorney and politician who was the U.S. representative for from 2015 to 2019. He is a member of the Republican Party. He previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003, and the Michigan State Senate from 2003 to 2010 where he served as majority leader. Lake Orion, Michigan
Lake Orion ( ) is a village in the northern outskirts of Metro Detroit in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,973 at the 2010 census. "Lake Orion" can refer to either the village or the much larger Orion Township, of which the village is a part. Lake Orion began as a resort town and over time has incorporated elements of a bedroom community. History Judah Church and Moses (or Samuel) Munson were among the first settlers. Munson, who arrived in 1824, built a sawmill in 1825, and planted the first orchard. Jesse Decker arrived from upstate New York with his wife, Mary, in 1825.
