James Robert Hyde (born October 9, 1962) is an American actor, dancer, and former fashion model who played the role of Sam Bennett on the television soap opera ''Passions''. He was born and raised in Lancaster, Ohio. Biography Hyde had roles in the films ''The Blackout'' and ''Let's Talk About Sex''. ''The Blackout'' has not yet been released in the US. He won an open casting call competition for '' Sunset Beach'' in 1996 and appeared in the promos for the show. He was cast for the recurring role of Neil Johansson on the television series '' Another World'' in 1997. He also had a short stint as Liam on the television series ''As the World Turns'' in 1999. James Hyde (born 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American painter, sculptor and photographer who has worked in New York City since the early 1980s. He has works in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum and has exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. Overview Hyde often employs unconventional materials when painting that range from plaster, nylon, chrome, steel to styrofoam and glass. His practice has been described as an "exploration of physicality" in his experimentations with different textures and planes that often re-evaluate and expand the limits and boundaries of painting. James Franklin Hyde (born 11 March 1903) was an American chemist and inventor. He has been called the “Father of Silicones” and is credited with the launch of the silicone industry in the 1930s. His most notable contributions include his creation of silicone from silicon compounds and his method of making fused silica, a high-quality glass later used in aeronautics, advanced telecommunications, and computer chips. His work led to the formation of Dow Corning, an alliance between the Dow Chemical Company and Corning Glass Works that was specifically created to produce silicone products. James Hazen Hyde (June 6, 1876 — July 26, 1959) was the son of Henry Baldwin Hyde, the founder of The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States. James Hazen Hyde was twenty-three in 1899 when he inherited the majority shares in the billion-dollar Equitable Life Assurance Society. Five years later, at the pinnacle of social and financial success, efforts to remove him from The Equitable set in motion the first great Wall Street scandal of the 20th century, which resulted in his resignation from The Equitable and relocation to France.
