James Collins (basketball)
James Edgar Collins (born November 5, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player whose last team was Fabriano Basket, Indesit Fabriano of the Italian LegADue, second division (Serie A2) in 2006–07 season. Career He attended Florida State University and was selected 36th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1997 NBA draft. He played one season in the National Basketball Association, NBA for the Los Angeles Clippers in 1997–98 NBA season, 1997–98, who had obtained him from the 76ers by trading the rights to a 1998 second round pick (used to select Jelani McCoy). He has also been briefly signed by the Phoenix Suns in 1999, Washington Wizards in 1999 and Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, but has not played any NBA games for those teams. James Collins (1802- July 18, 1864), often called "Col. Collins", served in the legislatures of the Wisconsin Territory and in the California State Assembly. A native of Virginia, he lived at different times in Macoupin County, Illinois, and in White Oak Springs, Wisconsin Territory. In 1845, he was the Whig nominee for non-voting delegate to the Twenty-ninth Congress to represent the Wisconsin Territory; he lost to Morgan Lewis Martin, with 5,787 to Martin's 6,803 and 790 for Edward D. Holton of the Liberty Party. James Francis Collins
General James Francis Collins (September 2, 1905 – January 22, 1989) commanded the U.S. Army, Pacific from April 1961 until his retirement in 1964, and was President of the American Red Cross from 1964 until 1970. Biography James Francis Collins was born in The Bronx on September 2, 1905, and raised in the Van Nest neighborhood. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he gained his commission in 1927 into the Field Artillery. He later attended the National War College. He also worked in the Hawaiian Division before the outbreak of World War II, during which he served exclusively in the Pacific Theater. James John Collins (30 October 1900 – 1 September 1967) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Limerick West constituency from 1948 to 1967. He joined the Irish Volunteers in 1915, holding various ranks before becoming adjutant to the West Limerick Brigade in October 1920. After the Anglo-Irish Treaty, he took charge of the Newcastle West RIC barracks and fought on the anti-treaty side in the Irish Civil War; he was arrested three times, escaped twice, and was finally released 24 December 1923. On the cessation of hostilities he worked as a farmer and a rate collector for Limerick County Council. He was a founder member of Fianna Fáil.
