James V
James V (10 April 1512 – 14 December 1542) was King of Scotland from 9 September 1513 until his death in 1542. He was crowned on 21 September 1513 at the age of seventeen months. James was the son of King James IV and Margaret Tudor, and during his childhood Scotland was governed by regents, firstly by his mother until she remarried, and then by his second cousin, John, Duke of Albany. James's personal rule began in 1528 when he finally escaped the custody of his stepfather, Archibald Douglas, Earl of Angus. His first action was to exile Angus and confiscate the lands of the Douglases. James greatly increased his income by tightening control over royal estates and from the profits of justice, customs and feudal rights. He founded the College of Justice in 1532, and also acted to end lawlessness and rebellion in the Borders and the Hebrides. Jimmy Buckley
James Brian Buckley, ( – 21 March 1943) was a Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm pilot who became a notable prisoner of war during the Second World War. He died during an escape attempt on 21 March 1943. Fleet Air Arm Buckley's naval career began in the mid-1920s. He was commissioned as a sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy with seniority from 15 June 1926. He then spent much of his early career attached to the Royal Air Force (which then controlled the naval aviation requirements of the British Armed Forces), interspersed with periods of other naval duties. He continued to receive regular promotions within the Royal Navy during this period, to lieutenant on 1 December 1928, and lieutenant commander on 1 December 1936. Control of naval aviation returned to the Admiralty in 1939. Buckley assumed command of No. 825 Squadron Fleet Air Arm in January 1940, which was equipped with Fairey Swordfish aircraft. James Buckley (24 February 1770 – 26 March 1828) was a Catholic Church, Roman Catholic bishop. Buckley was born on 24 February 1770, son of John and Ann Buckley, of London. He was baptised by Rev. Gerard Robinson; admitted to English College, Lisbon on 22 February 1785; ordained a priest on 24 December 1794 and retained in the College as a superior till 1801; he was presented to the presidency of the College by John Douglass (bishop), Bishops Douglass and Bishop Poynter, Poynter on 29 March and formally installed on 15 December 1806. He resigned and returned to the English mission in 1819. James Monroe Buckley (December 16, 1836 – February 10, 1920) was a Methodist minister, doctor, author, and editor of the ''Christian Advocate''. Biography James Monroe Buckley was born in Rahway, New Jersey on December 16, 1836 to John Buckley and his wife Abby, but his father, also a Methodist Episcopal minister, died soon after he was born. Buckley became a Methodist Episcopal minister in 1858, preaching several churches in New Hampshire, Detroit, Brooklyn, and Stamford. He received education from Pennington Seminary and Wesleyan University, although he withdrew after a year for health reasons and continued with private instructors. He later received honorary degrees from Wesleyan, Emory and Henry College, and Syracuse University. Jim Buckley (born 27 November 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer and coach who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Buckley is 175 cm tall and came from Kyneton. Buckley debuted with the Carlton Football Club in 1976 and won the Robert Reynolds Trophy, Carlton's best and fairest award, in 1982. He was a premiership player in 1979, 1981 and 1982. In total, Buckley played 164 games for 146 goals between 1976 and 1990. On 21 June 1983, when he was 23 years old, Buckley collided with a taxi, killing one of the occupants—passenger Peter Cunningham, a 42-year-old bookmaker's clerk—and injuring others. James Henry Buckley is an Irish former international rugby union player. A flanker, Buckley played his rugby with Cork club Sundays Well and was a Munster Junior Cup winner in 1958. Buckley's Serenaders was a family troupe of English-born American blackface minstrels, established under that name in 1853 by James Buckley. They became one of the two most popular companies in the U.S. from the mid-1850s to the 1860s, the other being the Christy and Wood Minstrels. Career James Buckley was born in Manchester, England, in 1803, and emigrated with his family to the U.S. in the 1830s. By 1843, he organized a troupe of minstrels, the Congo Melodists, in Boston, Massachusetts. They performed in New Orleans, and in 1845 in New York City, when they were known as the New Orleans Serenaders.
