His father was born in Ari, Abruzzo, Italy and his mother is from Australia. Due to his father, Ambrosini is eligible to play for the Italian national rugby union team. Ari is town and ''comune'' in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, south-eastern Italy. It is an agricultural center of the Frentan Sub-Apennines, located on a spur to the left of the river Dendalo.
