Jemmal ( ar, جمال) is a city in the Monastir Governorate of Tunisia, located about south of Monastir. As of 2014 it had a population of 50,275. The city is well known for its historic Grand Mosque and is at the centre of a region of olive groves. A festival takes place each year during the olive harvest season in November or December. It is also an important industrial center for textiles and manufacturing; the manufacturing industry employs about half of Jemmal's active population. An industrial zone was established in 2005 on 7.5 hectares (.03 sq. miles), along the road that connects Jemmal to the town of Moknine. Jamel is a German village in the municipality of Gägelow, in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. History According to the ', the village was first mentioned in 1230 as Jazel. On 1 July 1950, it merged with Wolde, as autonomous municipality, in the new one of , merged in 1961 into the current municipality of Gägelow. Geography Jamel is located at the end of a secondary road departing from the , between Gägelow ( far, in the east) and Grevesmühlen ( far in the west). It is from Wismar, from Schwerin and from Lübeck. Jamel Aït Ben Idir (born 10 January 1984) is a French-Moroccan former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Born in Mont-Saint-Aignan, Aït Ben Idir joined Le Havre in 2000 as a youth player. He made his professional debut for the club in a Ligue 2 match on 26 March 2002 against AC Ajaccio playing the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 loss. Jamel Curtis Holley (born September 13, 1979) is an American Democratic Party politician from the state of New Jersey, who served in the New Jersey General Assembly representing the 20th Legislative District from 2015 to 2022.
