Jamal Al Hajj
Jamal Al Haj ( ar, جمال الحاج; born 28 August 1971) is a Lebanese football manager and former player who is the technical director of club Ahed's youth sector. Al Haj played for Nejmeh as a midfielder, whom he captained, as well as for the Lebanon national team. He was the Lebanese Premier League top scorer in his debut season, in 1989–90, scoring 12 goals. Al Haj also played for Ahed in 2004. In 2017 he managed Nejmeh, but was fired two months later. Al Haj took charge of the Lebanon national under-23 team between 2020 and 2021. Club career Al Haj made his debut for Nejmeh under Samir Al Adou, during the 1989–90 Lebanese Premier League. In his debut season, Al Haj was the league's top scorer, with 12 goals, above Fadi Alloush and Yasser Mansour from Tadamon Beirut who had scored eight goals each. Al Ahed Football Club ( ar, نادي العهد الرياضي, lit=The Covenant Sporting Club) is a football club based in Ouzai, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the Lebanese Premier League, the top flight of Lebanese football. The club was founded in 1964 as Al Ahed Al Jadeed, starting in the Third Division, before they first reached the Lebanese Premier League for the first time in 1996. Nicknamed "the Yellow Castle" (), Ahed have won one AFC Cup title, eight Premier League titles, six FA Cup titles, eight Super Cup titles, six Elite Cup titles, and one Federation Cup title. Nejmeh Sporting Club ( ar, نادي النجمة الرياضي, lit=The Star Sporting Club) is a football club based in Manara, a district in Ras Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was established in Beirut in 1945, and received its license in 1947. Nejmeh's board is affiliated with the Future Movement and the Hariri family. The latest top scorers are Fadel Antar and Mahmoud Siblini of Shabab Sahel and Nejmeh, respectively, who scored 10 goals each in 2021–22. Fadi Alloush holds the record for most goals in a single season at 32, while Fouad Saad is the top scorer with the least seasonal goals at six. The Lebanese Super Cup () is Lebanese football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Lebanese Premier League season and the holders of the Lebanese FA Cup. If the Lebanese Premier League champions also won the Lebanese FA Cup then the league runners-up provide the opposition. The Lebanese Elite Cup () is a Lebanese football annual cup competition contested by the top six teams of the previous Lebanese Premier League season. Founded in 1996 as the Super League Cup, the first edition was contested by the top five finishers of the league and the Lebanese FA Cup winners. The most successful club in the competition is Nejmeh with 12 titles, followed by Ahed with six. History The competition was first played in 1996 and was contested by the top five of the league and the Lebanese FA Cup winners; it was known as the Super League Cup.
