Jamaal James (born September 4, 1988) is a former professional 800m runner from Trinidad and Tobago he represented his country internationally at the age group and elite level. James graduated from Louisiana State University(LSU) in 2010 with a degree in Communication Studies. At LSU James earned both National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Indoor All-American and South Eastern Conference (SEC) honors between 2007 and 2010. His personal record is 1:46.57 achieved in Ninove, Belgium. He is also the national junior 800m record holder for his country with the time of 1:47.00. Les Abymes () is the most populous commune in the French overseas region and department of Guadeloupe, in the Lesser Antilles. Athletics was one of ten core sports that appeared at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. As a founding sport, athletics has appeared consistently since its introduction at the 1911 Inter-Empire Games; the recognised precursor to the Commonwealth Games. The competition took place between Sunday 27 July and Saturday 2 August at the temporarily modified Hampden Park, Scotland's national football stadium. The programme commenced with the 26.2 mile marathon, which started and finished at Glasgow Green and included numerous para-sport events throughout. 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics was the 14th edition of the global-level indoor track and field competition and was held between March 9–11, 2012 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. It was the first of four IAAF World Athletics Series events in 2012, which includes the World Race Walking Cup, the World Junior Championships and the World Half Marathon Championships. Preparation The IAAF announced on March 25, 2007, at an IAAF Council meeting in Mombasa, Kenya that it had received bids from Turkey and Qatar to host the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships.
