Hassan Bubacar Jallow
Hassan Bubacar Jallow (born 14 August 1951) is a Gambian judge who has served as Chief Justice of the Gambia since February 2017. He was the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) from 2003 to 2016, and Prosecutor of the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) from 2012 to 2016, both at the rank of United Nations Under Secretary-General. He served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General from 1984 to 1994 under President Dawda Jawara. Early life and education Jallow was born in Bansang, British Gambia on 14 August 1951. He was the son of Abubacar Jallow (d. 1997), an Imam and Islamic Scholar. He attended Saint Augustine's High School in Banjul from 1963 to 1969, and the Gambia High School from 1969 to 1971. Ousman Jallow (born 21 October 1988 in Banjul) is a Gambian footballer who plays as a striker, most recently for Cypriot club Yenicami Ağdelen. Cherno Sulayman Jallow KC (born 15 November 1962) is a Gambian lawyer and judge who serves as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the Gambia. He previously served as Attorney General of the British Virgin Islands from 1999 to 2007. Early life and education Jallow was born in the village of Old Yundum, Kombo North. His father was from Old Yundum too, with his mother from Brufut. When he had to be registered for school, he moved in with his grandparents in Brufut as they lived closer to a primary school. Lamin Jallow (born 22 July 1994) is a Gambian professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Turkish club Adanaspor and the Gambia national team. Antouman Jallow (born 11 June 1981, in Uppsala) is a Swedish soccer player of Gambian heritage. Career Early Career in Sweden Jallow was part of the youth system at his hometown club, IK Sirius, and was captain of the team which came second in Sweden's U-19 national championship. He played for Sirius in the Swedish second division from 2000–2001, scoring 12 goals in 30 games. College Jallow left Uppsala to attend university at and play college soccer at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2002. He was both the team MVP and Horizon League player of the year in 2004. Professional Jallow was drafted in the fourth round (41st overall) of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by San Jose Earthquakes, but chose not to sign with the team. Transcription in the linguistic sense is the systematic representation of spoken language in written form. The source can either be utterances (''speech'' or ''sign language'') or preexisting text in another writing system. Transcription should not be confused with translation, which means representing the meaning of text from a source-language in a target language, (e.g. ''Los Angeles'' (from source-language Spanish) means ''The Angels'' in the target language English); or with transliteration, which means representing the spelling of a text from one script to another.
