Jalen Watson
Jalen Antonio Ellis-Watson (born March 23, 2000) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for Simcoe County Rovers FC in League1 Ontario. Early life Watson played youth soccer with Erin Mills SC. In August 2017, Watson joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, where he played for two years. College career In 2019, Watson began attending Pennsylvania State University, where he played for the men's soccer team. On August 30, 2019, he made his collegiate debut against the Stanford Cardinal. On October 15, 2019, he scored his first collegiate goal against the Pittsburgh Panthers. After his freshman season, he was named to the Big Ten Conference All-Freshman Team. In his sophomore and junior seasons, he earned Academic All-Big Ten honours. In his senior season, he was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team. Over his four years at Penn State, Watson scored one goal and added three assists in 59 appearances. 2023 MLS SuperDraft
The 2023 MLS SuperDraft was the 24th edition of the SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. It was held on December 21, 2022, becoming the first SuperDraft to be held in December, but will retain the 2023 branding. The draft was conducted via conference call and streamed online. Previously, the SuperDraft had been held in conjunction with the annual January United Soccer Coaches convention. Since 2021, the SuperDraft has consisted of three rounds. Teams that received fourth-round picks for this draft via past trades received compensatory picks instead. The first overall pick is awarded to expansion team St. Louis City SC and the remaining picks are set by 2022 regular season and post-season results in reverse order. 2024 League1 Ontario Season
The 2024 Men's League1 Ontario season is the tenth of League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. Starting from this season, the league will split into three divisions with promotion and relegation between them. The Premier division will be composed by 12 clubs, the Championship division by 10 clubs, all returning from last season. The League2 Ontario will be made up by three conferences containing reserve teams and newly licensed clubs. Simcoe County Rovers Football Club is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in Barrie, Ontario, that plays in the League1 Ontario men's and women's divisions. History The club was founded in 2021, by former Canadian national team player Julian De Guzman, Peter Raco, and the Barrie Soccer Club under the name FC Barrie, who had initially been part of the group forming 1812 FC Barrie, before departing to form their own team. The Canadian Premier League (CPL or CanPL; french: Première ligue canadienne, links=no) is a professional men's Association football, soccer league in Canada. At the top of the Canadian soccer league system, it is the country's primary national soccer league competition. The league consists of eight teams, from five of provinces and territories of Canada, Canada's ten provinces. Each team plays 28 games in the regular season which is followed by playoffs culminating in the Canadian Premier League Finals, CPL Finals.
