2024 League1 Ontario Season
The 2024 Men's League1 Ontario season is the tenth of League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. Starting from this season, the league will split into three divisions with promotion and relegation between them. The Premier division will be composed by 12 clubs, the Championship division by 10 clubs, all returning from last season. The League2 Ontario will be made up by three conferences containing reserve teams and newly licensed clubs. League1 Ontario Premier League1 Ontario Premier will be composed by 12 teams, all coming back from the 2023 League1 Ontario season. League1 Ontario
League1 Ontario (L1O) is a semi-professional men's soccer league in Ontario, Canada. The league began play in 2014 and is sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association as a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. As of the 2022 season, L1O includes 22 teams. Beginning in 2024, the league will become a three-tier league featuring promotion and relegation. In the Canadian soccer league system, the men's division is behind the Canadian Premier League (CPL). It is part of League1 Canada, the national third tier with regional division, with L1O equaivalent to the Première ligue de soccer du Québec (PLSQ) and League1 British Columbia (L1BC). North York
North York is one of the six administrative districts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located directly north of York, Old Toronto and East York, between Etobicoke to the west and Scarborough to the east. As of the 2016 Census, it had a population of 869,401. North Toronto Nitros is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in Toronto, Ontario. The club was founded in 1980 as a youth soccer club and added its men's semi-professional club in League1 Ontario in 2016 and it's women's team in the League1 Ontario women's division in 2021. History The club was founded in 1980 as a youth soccer club. They updated the club logo in 2019, combining the club logo and Nitros team logo. Originally a youth soccer club, the team added a men's semi-professional team in League1 Ontario in 2016, playing their home games at the University of Toronto's Varsity Stadium. Ron Joyce Stadium
Ron Joyce Stadium is a football stadium owned by McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The stadium is the home of the McMaster Marauders football team and the Hamilton Nationals of Major League Lacrosse. The stadium features 6,000 permanent seats and temporary seating for an additional 6,000 on the other side of the field when needed for national events. An underground parking garage is below the stadium grounds that will serve visitors to the stadium plus daily campus parking needs. Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Hamilton United is a Canadian semi-professional association football, soccer club based in Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton, Ontario that plays in the League1 Ontario men's and League1 Ontario (women), women's divisions. Justin Springer (born 8 July 1993) is a former professional footballer and current coach, who serves as head coach of League1 Ontario club Guelph United FC. Born in Canada, he represented the Saint Kitts and Nevis national team. University career Springer began attending the University of Guelph in 2012, where he played for the men's soccer team. In his first season, he played all sixteen games and was named an OUA West First Team All-Star. In his second season, he was once again named an OUA First Team All-Star and was invited to play in the OUA Showcase in the spring. Darren Tilley (born 15 March 1967) is an English football coach and former player. He has coached USL-1 club Rochester Rhinos. Playing career York City Tilley was born in Keynsham, Somerset. He played for York City in the Football League Third Division from 1991 to 1993. They finished in fourth position in the 22-team 1992–93 Football League Third Division, qualifying for the play-offs.
