Cochrane Road is a road and a suburb in the Titiwangsa constituency of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was named after Charles Walter Hamilton Cochrane (1876–1932), who served as British Resident of Perak (1929–1930) and later the Chief Secretary to the Government of the Federated Malay States from 1930 till his death in 1932. Location Cochrane Road runs in a northwest–southeast direction, linking Maluri to Pasar Road in Pudu. Features Cochrane Road lends its name to two secondary schools in this area - the Cochrane Road School and SMK Cochrane Perkasa. Since 2015, Cochrane Road hosts IKEA's second store in Malaysia after Mutiara Damansara. Titiwangsa is one of the main areas located in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Kuala Lumpur General Hospital is located south of Titiwangsa. The current member of parliament for Titiwangsa is Johari Abdul Ghani from Barisan Nasional-UMNO. The Titiwangsa Lake Gardens has facilitated cycling and water ball activities. Maluri is a suburb in the constituency of Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, situated near the border of the constituency of Titiwangsa. It is located along Cheras Road and can be accessed through Maluri station served by the LRT Ampang Line and the MRT Kajang Line. Pudu (Chinese: 富都, alt. 半山芭) is a ward of Kuala Lumpur located along the Pudu Road ( ms, Jalan Pudu). It houses Pudu Sentral (Kuala Lumpur's oldest bus station) and formerly Pudu Prison. Pudu Market ( ms, Pasar Besar Pudu) is one of the largest wet markets in Kuala Lumpur. Adjacent to it is Jalan Pasar (Pasar Road) where there are shops selling electronics components and devices. SMK Cochrane (formerly known as SMK Jalan Cochrane or Cochrane Road School, C.R.S.) is a secondary school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded in 1957 to provide secondary education to pupils who live near Cochrane Road. The school was inaugurated on 1 September 1965 by Datuk Harun Idris, Menteri Besar of Selangor at that time. It offers classes for students from Form 1 to Form 6. Since 1994, the school changed it status from a boys school to a co-ed secondary school. It was situated on Jalan Cochrane before the school was relocated to a new building in Jalan Shahbandar in late 2004. The Cochrane station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) underground station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the MRT Kajang Line.
