Jake Alexander Newton (born 9 June 1984) is a Guyanese footballer who plays as a right back for Folland Sports and the Guyana national team. Early and personal life Born in Hammersmith, London, England, Newton is the younger brother of fellow footballer Howard Newton. Career Club career After spending five years with the Hampton & Richmond Borough youth team, Newton began his senior career in 2003 with Staines Town, and has also played for Chalfont St Peter, Bashley and Havant & Waterlooville. On 17 May 2018, Newton joined Wessex League side Hamble Club. Hammersmith is a district of West London, England, southwest of Charing Cross. It is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London. Howard Newton (born 16 March 1982) is a former Guyanese international footballer who plays for Isthmian League South Central Division side South Park. Club career Newton began his club career in England, playing with teams including Sutton United, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Wembley, Hitchin Town, Staines Town, Epsom & Ewell, Dagenham & Redbridge and Harrow Borough. In August 2009, Newton had an unsuccessful trial with Football League side Gillingham. Newton then joined New Zealand side Hamilton Wanderers in the summer of 2010, helping the club win the league. Upon his return to England, he joined non-league club Bromley. However, he managed just a single appearance for the Ravens before his departure at the end of the season. Cuba National Football Team
The Cuba national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Cuba) represents Cuba in men's international football and it is controlled by the Football Association of Cuba. Nicknamed Leones del Caribe (''Lions of Caribbean''), the team represents all three FIFA, Caribbean Football Union and Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF). They were the first Caribbean team to get to the World Cup Quarter finals – they did so in 1938. There, in the round of 16, they defeated Romania in a replay, 2–1, after drawing against them 3–3.
