Howard Newton
Howard Newton (born 16 March 1982) is a former Guyanese international footballer who plays for Isthmian League South Central Division side South Park. Club career Newton began his club career in England, playing with teams including Sutton United, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Wembley, Hitchin Town, Staines Town, Epsom & Ewell, Dagenham & Redbridge and Harrow Borough. In August 2009, Newton had an unsuccessful trial with Football League side Gillingham. Newton then joined New Zealand side Hamilton Wanderers in the summer of 2010, helping the club win the league. Upon his return to England, he joined non-league club Bromley. However, he managed just a single appearance for the Ravens before his departure at the end of the season. In July 2011, Newton moved to Staines Town for his third spell with the club, enjoying a more successful season while scoring once in 15 games. Southern Combination Challenge Cup
The Southern Combination Challenge Cup is a football competition contested by non-league clubs. An independent cup, it was directly affiliated to the Football Association until 2015, when a change in FA Rules required such competitions to affiliate with the county of the majority of its member clubs: this is currently the Surrey County FA for this competition. The competition was founded in March 1958, as the Southern Combination Amateur Challenge Cup Competition. The word "Amateur" was later dropped in 1974. It is often referred to as simply the Southern Combination Cup. The competition's rules state that entrants must be based within 25 miles of Weybridge, Surrey (until 1998, within 25 miles of Kingston upon Thames). The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world.
