Jake McGuire
Jake McGuire (born September 3, 1994) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for North Carolina FC in the USL Championship. Early life and education McGuire played in the youth ranks of Major League Soccer side Chivas USA. He also trained with the Chivas USA first team. McGuire played for the University of Tulsa's Division I men's soccer team, and was named to the NSCAA Third-Team All-East Region and the American Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team during his senior season. While at the University of Tulsa between 2013 and 2016, he started all four years, made 67 appearances, and concluded his career ranked first in career shutouts, minutes played, and games played. He tallied 17 shutouts (school record). He was on the All-Academic Team from 2014–2017. The 2017 MLS SuperDraft was the eighteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held each year in conjunction with the annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention. The first two rounds of the 2017 SuperDraft were held in Los Angeles, California on January 13, 2017 as part of the NSCAA 2017 convention. United States Men's National Under-20 Soccer Team
The United States U-20 men's national soccer team is controlled by the United States Soccer Federation. The highest level of competition in which the team competes is the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is held every two years. The United States' best finish came in the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship, when the U.S. beat Iraq in the quarterfinal before losing to Nigeria in overtime in the semifinal and Brazil in the third-place match. USL League One (USL1) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that had its inaugural season in 2019. The Division III league is operated by United Soccer League, the same group that operates the Division II USL Championship and other leagues.
