Football Club Cincinnati, commonly known as FC Cincinnati, is an American professional soccer club based in Cincinnati. The club plays in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). The team succeeded the lower-division team of the same name and was announced on May 29, 2018, when MLS awarded an expansion franchise to Cincinnati. The team began MLS play on March 2, 2019, with its first match against Seattle Sounders FC. The club's ownership group is led by Carl H. Lindner III with Jeff Berding serving as Co-CEO. West End is a neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, located northwest of downtown, east of Queensgate, west of Over-the-Rhine, and southeast of Fairview. The population was 6,824 at the 2020 Census. History The historic West End was largely razed in the 1950s and 60s which lead to a very large drop in population from 68,000 in 1950 to 18,000 in 1970. This razing was done as part of a series of urban renewal projects and the construction of Interstate 75. The largest of these urban renewal projects was the Kenyon-Barr Renewal Plan. Tyrone Marshall
Tyrone Everton Marshall (born 12 November 1974) is a retired Jamaican footballer and current head coach of FC Cincinnati 2, the reserve team of Major League Soccer's FC Cincinnati. Career Youth and College Marshall moved to the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area when he was twelve years old. He attended Lindsey Wilson College from 1994 to 1995 before transferring to Florida International University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1996 to 1997. Said Bakkati ( ar, سعيد بقّاتي; born 23 March 1982) is a Dutch former footballer of Moroccan descent. He was a defender who played as a rightback. Playing career Club Bakkati's career began when he signed a professional contract with SC Heerenveen, making his first first-team appearance in 2000, at the age of 18. After five-and-a-half years with the team from Friesland he joined fellow Eredivisie participants ADO Den Haag during the 2005–06 season. Jaap Stam
Jakob Stam (; born 17 July 1972) is a Dutch professional football coach and former player. As a player, he played as a centre-back and is regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation. Stam played for several European clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, Lazio, Milan and Ajax before retiring in October 2007. As well as club trophies, he won several personal awards, including being voted the best defender in the 1998–99 and 1999–2000 UEFA Champions League, as well as being included in three consecutive PFA Team of the Year sides from 1999 to 2001. Gerard Nijkamp (born 1970) is a Dutch soccer player and manager. He worked in various coaching and managerial roles for Dutch club PEC Zwolle from 1998 until 2019, when he started in his role as general manager of FC Cincinnati. He continued in that role until 6 August 2021. Managerial career PEC Zwolle Nijkamp was an assistant coach and academy director at PEC Zwolle from 1998 to 2007. Ron Jans (, born 29 September 1958) is a Dutch football coach and former player, he currently is the head coach of Twente. Yoann Damet is a French association football coach who is currently an assistant coach with the LA Galaxy in the Major League Soccer. Alan Koch (born 30 April 1975) is a South African soccer coach who is the technical director for Olé Football Academy. Koch is a former South African youth national team player, professional player and coach. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University where he earned his bachelor's degree. The Designated Player Rule, nicknamed the Beckham Rule, allows Major League Soccer franchises to sign up to three players that would be considered outside their salary cap (either by offering the player higher wages or by paying a transfer fee for the player). Abdul-Fatai Alashe (born October 21, 1993) is an American professional soccer player. Career College and amateur Alashe spent all four years of his college career at Michigan State University where he made a total of 86 appearances for the Spartans and tallied eight goals and eight assists.
