Jacques Kruyswijk
Jacques Kruyswijk (born 16 October 1992) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. He won the 2016 Cape Town Open. Amateur career Kruyswijk enjoyed a stellar career as an amateur and won the Royal Silver Vase in 2011. He represented Limpopo Province between 2005 and 2012. In 2011 he was nominated as the SA IPT Player of the Year. He recorded six victories on the IGT Tour. Professional career Kruyswijk turned professional in January 2013 after he finished 7th in the 2013 Sunshine Tour Q-School. He recorded his first professional victory in his rookie season in an event on the Big Easy Tour. In 2015 he received attention at a Vodacom Origins of Golf event when he got a one shot penalty after whacking his ball off a tree then into his most sensitive area. The 2023–24 Sunshine Tour is the 53rd season of the Sunshine Tour (formerly the Southern Africa Tour), the main professional golf tour in South Africa since it was formed in 1971. Changes for 2023–24 The full 2023–24 schedule was announced in May 2023 and was originally intended to have 32 tournaments, and include co-sanctioned tournaments with the European Tour and Challenge Tour. Notably, the Zanaco Masters returned to the schedule, having not been played on the Sunshine Tour since 2019. 2020–21 Sunshine Tour
The 2020–21 Sunshine Tour was the 21st season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa-based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000. The Sunshine Tour represented the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. The tour was based predominantly in South Africa with other events originally being scheduled in Eswatini, Zambia, Mauritius and Kenya. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour announced a suspension on 16 March. Later, the first two scheduled tournaments, the Investec Royal Swazi Open and the Zambia Open, were postponed. On 5 August, the tour announced its resumption, starting in mid-August with a new series of five 54-hole tournaments, called the "Rise Up Series". In January 2021, the schedule was once again disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic as several tournaments scheduled for early in the year were postponed by a month or more, with the season restarting in March.
